Time Strategies

Photo showing time is short Click here for link to photo The thing we can not buy and seem to never have enough of, time. It seems that there is never enough time in the day, week, month, year, or lifetime. One way to keep from getting overwhelmed by this life and load it bears is to implement good time management strategies in ones life. This is much easier said than done I know for a fact. I like to think of "wasting" time having much to do with the everyday addictions of life. We all have something we are addicted to and get in the way of plans or schedules we have. Things that we will prioritize before anything else. Much like smoking, it is hard to put aside our addictions and get on track with what we need to do for the day, week, month, year, and so on so we stay on track for our goals. An article I really felt was something I try to use in my life has to do with just starting the event one has in mind to accomplish. This I believe is 80 percent of the bat...

Technology

Hold On A Second Sir My Connection's A Little Ruff Funny Technology Meme Image click here for link to photo Technology... Something I have a love/hate relationship with. If I had it my way I would have little to do with it, but as most things go in this life I don't get my way and society keeps becoming ever more inter-tangled with technologies for every part of his or her day. Anyway, to get off my soap box now I have been introduced to many of the formats we are using such as Canvas, Cheezburger, Pintrest, ext. I have not however until now been introduced to the PBworks page but I am growing very fond of it the more I use it. I love how interactive it is and easy of use. I am already upping my "tech-savviness" by becoming a blogger so I guess the rest of this semester I would just like to continue in growing that.

2017 Assignments

Cat begging for extra credit, (How I look in need of points). Link My first impression of the assignments was that they were not so different than others from online classes except there is a very rigid structure and layout that is nice to keep you on track. Then I scrolled down and saw all the extra credit opportunities and was immediately overcome with happiness because what extra credit won't make you happy!?

New to Growth Mindset

Growth mindset link   As the title may elude too I am new to the concept of growth mindset. Listening to the videos by Carol Dweck is the first time I have heard about this topic. I really feel like this is something that education as a whole should look into. Challenge is something that is needed to further higher education. This is much like a conversation I had with a professor a few years ago. In todays society everyone must have an "A" in a class or they feel like it is not good enough when in fact a grade of "A" should be thought of as extraordinary. My professor said that in her education day most all kids were getting "C" or "B" grades and that was average or good and an "A" was rare. Are we getting to where grades are so inflated and challenge is hard to find? This is up for debate for sure and is something that the education system I think will never change. Instead education will keep becoming inflated. I know too many pe...

Introduction to a Small Town Oklahoman

Hello there, I'm Kasey Gill and this is my Introduction post! I was been born and raised in the semi-small town of El Reno Oklahoma, some 25 miles or so west of the Oklahoma City metro area. Personal photo of an El Reno sunset I went to El Reno High School where I met my best friend Caleb and where we both got into all kinds of trouble. During my four years there I began to fall in love with the thoughts and abilities of all things science. This started the basis of my higher level learning and future goals. As you guessed I am a Biology major. When I wasn't in class or studying for the next chemistry or physics test you could find me on the basketball court. I was apart of the varsity basketball team for 3 of my four year career, of which we went to state 2 of the years and were state runner-ups 1 of the years. Storybook Favorites

An Eye for an Eye   By: Janelle Barrick Image Information: Biblical Murder Web Source: Simon Cooper Click here for the blog        The first storybook that caught my eye was the title I have posted above, "An Eye for an Eye" published by Janelle Barrick. Not only was the title intriguing to me but the title page picture drew me in. The contrast of the Bible being held by bloody hands just seemed to grab my attention, I had to read on. As I read, the author ended up being the main character in the story. In this story they were a murder that sought justice for those that had broken the "laws of the Bible". It was funny because I had just the day before watched the movie "Seven". In this picture two detectives try and find a serial killer who is killing people that are related to the seven deadly sins portrayed in the Bible. This story and the movie seem to be very similar. As I kept reading the author describes the Bible as not a book filled wi...

My Favorite Place To Be

This is my favorite place to be. I have had a long bond with this place and feel most me when I am here. My father began taking me here when I was very little. This is where my heart always calls to when the weather begins to warm and the plants begin to green.                      Personal Photo 2016 A photo of porum landing cove                                                                         Source: News Ok                                                ...
